Legation of Baden-Württemberg
The Legation of Baden-Württemberg was erected by Government Councillor Wilhelm Neumann at the end of the 19th century. The building was originally free-standing, and, as one of the first new buildings to be constructed in Voßstraße, the aim was for it to set standards for the later development of the street. In 1937, the German Reich purchased the building in order to be able to demolish it to make way for the New Reich Chancellery. The clearance plan of 30 September 1937 stipulated that the building should be cleared by 1 January 1938. Then the Legation was demolished to create the necessary construction space to erect the Central Building of the New Reich Chancellery. |
